If you thought the introduction of Publix would be the most exciting addition to the Statesboro area, we've heard of a few restaurants that have also decided to join the Boro family! From familiar faces, such as Dunkin' and Popeyes, to brand new additions, such as Texas Roadhouse, Statesboro is starting to draw interest from every direction. Of the many businesses looking to expand down south, one is the British based chicken restaurant, Slim Chickens.

ANOTHER SPOT FOR CHICKEN FOODIES!

With the grand opening of their first restaurant in 2003, Slim Chickens aimed to introduce a little southern hospitality to the fast casual restaurant business. Serving hand-breaded British chicken, Slim Chicken’s uses 100% all-natural chicken, prepared in a buttermilk marinade, and made to order. They also offer 15 handmade houses sauces that get new foodies coming in and previous foodies coming back.  

WHAT'S ON THE MENU?

From tenders and wings to waffles and wraps, Slim Chicken’s has a variety of options for all types of foodies. Their menu items include tenders & wings meals, sandwiches, chicken & waffles, mac bowl meals, wraps, and salads. They offer meals that include 3 to 7 tenders and 6, 8, or 10 wings. Each tender, wing, and wrap meal comes with a choice of 1 side and a soft drink. Their desserts include a brownie and some shakes but, if you’re looking for a souvenir, try one of their jar desserts and keep your jar!

Slim Chicken’s also offers kids’ meals, for children 10 years and under, and family meals. Foodies will also have the option to purchase desserts, sides, and sauces separately.  For foodies that are not familiar with Slim Chicken’s, their website suggests Slims Picks, which consists of multiple popular items such as the Buffalo Tender Mac Bowl Meal and the Chicken Club Sandwich Meal.

While the time of the opening is still to be determined, Slim Chickens will be right across from McDonald’s in a newly constructed building, equipped with a drive-thru, curbside parking, and dining area. In addition to these features will be the option to pick up orders placed online or through the app from inside the store, in the drive-thru, or outside in their curbside spots.
